FAQ

Q: What is 'feels right' weight?

A: It is 1/2 to 2/3 of the baby's actual birth weight. It is what a baby feels like when they are awake, (they feel the size they look).

Q: What is 'real' weight?

A: If you put a 'real' weight doll on a scale (depending on the scale used) it will register the actual birth weight of the baby. A 'real' weight doll feels like a baby that is in a deep sleep, was still born or died after birth (heavier than they look).

Q: How long does it take to make a doll?

A: 'Normal' preemie dolls take about 7 days up to 8 weeks (depending on our family activities & health). A 'specialty doll' can take longer if the pattern has to be modified. Multiples also take longer as I have to make more than one doll.

Q: What is a 'specialty doll'?

A: A 'specialty doll' is a doll that needs changes. These changes require extra time to create. These changes may include: clubbed feet, a face painted differently (cleft lip, ect.), a doll (like our daughter) that needs pattern changes, or other changes to the doll or pattern, so the doll will resemble you child. 'Specialty dolls' that only need the face painted differently or clubbed feet usually take less than an hour to make the changes.

Q: What is a 'doll tag'?

A: This is a laminated business card that has the Remember Me Preemie name & Logo. It also states that these are 'hand-made dolls made by Kim Crabbs', a pattern permission statement, 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7 & www.remembermepreemie.com.   There is a hole punched in the corner with a ribbon through it & is attached to the doll's ankle or wrist. You can remove it or leave it on.
